Orbiting
Weight is a measure of gravitational force. The size of the force depends on the masses of objects and the distances between them. Suppose you travel in space far away from all the stars and planets. The gravitational force acting on you would be very small because the distance between you and other objects would be very large. Astronauts floor in orbiting spacecrafts because of free fall. How orbiting is formed is that the space shuttle moves forward at a constant speed. If there were no gravity, the space shuttle would follow the path it was going toward. The space shuttle is in free fall because gravity pulls it toward Earth. The space shuttle would move straight down if it were not traveling forward. The space shuttle moves forward at a constant speed. If there were no gravity, the space shuttle would follow the path of the dotted line.
